Domestic Violence is real. It can happen to anyone.
Shot, Tortured and Left to Die.
Penny survived a vicious attack and years of abuse at the hands of her ex-husband, but says her emotional wounds are far from healed. It’s a shocking story of abuse, survival and one woman’s unwavering will to live.
For 12 years, Penny says she experienced extreme abuse at the hands of her husband, Brad. “Brad’s behavior escalated throughout our marriage. With each pregnancy, he got more and more abusive,” she explains. “The first time my husband hit me, I was pregnant with Chelsea. He wanted to go out to the clubs, and I did not approve of it.” When she told Brad she’d like him to stay at home, Penny says he slapped her in the face. “I was very shocked that he hit me because I had never, ever imagined him putting his hand on me.”
