Volunteer Opportunities


The Shelter Home of Caldwell County has many ways you can help out.  Below are descriptions of just some of the volunteer positions available right now:There is an old saying in India: “When you help your neighbor’s boat across the water, you find that your own has reached the shore.”  By helping others, we often find that we have helped ourselves as well.  – Kalyan Banerjee, President, Rotary International.

Child Care – needed Wednesday from 5:30pm p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  and Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.   Supervise residents children while they attend our Domestic Violence Support Group.

Donations – scheduling for this position is very flexible.  Sort, and fold clothing, and organize household items for effective browsing of residents and their children.

Receptionist – Greatly need volunteers for this position.  This is a job for a special person.  Become trained in how to answer our crisis calls.

Many more opportunities are available.  Come share your talent with us.  Teach an aerobics class, art or craft, host a board game night.  And for those men out there wanting to volunteer – we need strong arms to move furniture, men to do landscaping and even maintenance work around the Shelter.
