The key to our overall success is a strong connection with the local community. Your support and participation are vital to helping the SHCC continue providing services to women and children whose lives have been affected by family violence. There are many ways you can help:

VOLUNTEER: We have a committed group of volunteers and wouldn’t want to imagine working without them, but we need more! We want to train and support an active, energetic, and committed volunteer base. Will, you consider becoming an SHCC volunteer? Answering phones, assisting with childcare, and sorting and organizing donated items are just a few of the important tasks where help is needed; see Volunteer Opportunities for more information.

DONATE ITEMS: Many SHCC residents arrive with nothing but the clothes they are wearing, so there’s always an immediate need for clothing and toiletry items. Helping residents begin a new life is also a part of our mission, so donations of household items like dishes, appliances, and furniture are also needed.
