The Shelter Home of Caldwell County (SHCC) provides emergency and support services for victims/survivors of domestic violence, rape, and sexual assault and their children. Shelter Home is well known for providing help for domestic violence.

If you or someone you know needs help, many organizations and professionals are available to provide counsel and support. The first steps are to see a doctor with any physical injuries and report a crime to law enforcement officers. SHCC provides help for domestic violence & victim advocacy services to help you navigate the system or find shelter.

“The decision about when to seek help is a very personal one, and there are many reasons why people may not be ready or may not want to reach out. A partner may threaten to harm or kill if abuse is reported. A victim may hesitate one moment or one day too long—hoping for change. We must make every effort to provide clear and efficient avenues to reach out before it is too late.”
